What’s new in Momento

Personalize the whole interface: coordinated colors, fonts, cards, navigation, buttons and transitions.

Find your themes in nine styles, including CIRCUIT, VELVET, FOLIO, POP!, ION and Guild. Similar variants are grouped together.

Choose from 37 style and palette combinations. Momento remembers your last variant for each style.

ION offers seven neon colors: electric outlines on hover and keyboard focus, brighter and faster when pressed, off at rest.

Try themes in an interactive workshop with buttons, cards, menus, fields and navigation. Apply your choice or leave without changing it.

The Animations button honors your choice even when Windows reduces motion. Without a choice, Momento follows Windows; effects pause during capture and in the background.

Crosshair Studio has a new layout with a preview, 33 templates, search, filters and settings in one place.

Create a different crosshair for each game. Editing one profile leaves the others intact; duplicate it or return to the default template.

Import and copy current CS2 codes, older CS:GO codes and Valorant primary profiles. The Momento format preserves your complete creations.

Game exports identify unsupported shapes. Choose a resolution for CS2; supported Valorant settings are static.

Preview your crosshair on light or dark backgrounds or your own screenshots, zoom in and open a full-screen preview.

Cursor Studio brings together 51 templates with search and filters. Preview a cursor and its size, then click Apply to change your Windows cursor.

Use a cursor everywhere or only in games. Restore Windows also disables automatic mode; selecting a preview no longer changes the desktop cursor.

Fixed an invisible arrow, several cursor previews and crosshair-to-cursor conversion.

The sensitivity converter covers 70 profiles and a custom mode, with cm/360° distances, field-of-view settings and game-specific behavior.

Enter values with a comma or decimal point, swap games and copy the result. Out-of-range values and differences caused by game slider steps are shown.

Go to the previous or next clip directly from the player. Navigation follows your filtered list and keeps your playback speed.

Buttons no longer show the old hover tooltips, and the browser context menu no longer opens inside the app.

Account restoration confirms purchased access more reliably: an already recognized purchase should no longer send you back to buy again.

Capture follows your chosen frame rate more closely, without catch-up bursts after a stall.

Failed capture starts clean up their tasks; recovery attempts are limited to prevent repeated restart loops.

Long recording finalization runs in the background. The interface stays available, while new recordings and updates wait until completion.

HUD, crosshair and area-capture windows load only their own tool instead of initializing the entire main interface.

Licensed installations automatically send technical diagnostics and usage counters to help investigate incidents. No video, images, audio, raw log text or personal paths are sent.

New labels, templates and release notes are available in all ten Momento languages; existing theme and palette preferences are preserved.

Fixed repeated warnings after reloading a view, and the application icon now loads correctly.

Future updates return to the Momento panel, with download progress and patch highlights.

The player now plays the microphone track in clips that contain one. Adjust your voice separately from other sounds in the editor.

Clearer audio settings: choose a Windows microphone and quickly test its input level.

Sign in with your Discord account directly from the app.

Momento installs updates at launch, even before you sign in.

Your clips now always finish saving. A save could get stuck: the clip never showed up in your library, and no further capture would fire until you restarted the app.

The editor shows the clip's filmstrip under the timeline: you see the actual frames, what is kept and what is cut, and you scrub with a click or a drag.

Library thumbnails finally show the whole frame, in the native format of your captures, instead of cropping a third off the top and bottom.

No more auto-clip bursts: on LoL, CS2, TFT and Dota 2, an auto clip now only fires on a real in-game moment (a kill) — never again on mere game noise and your clicks.

Two auto clips can no longer overlap: the next one waits until the previous clip's window has passed. No more near-identical duplicates filling up your disk.

In your notes, a single click on a link opens it in your browser (on a canvas: Ctrl+click).

The analysis engine (game context, Valorant auto-clips) moves to beta: off by default, you can enable it in Settings → Moments.

Range ta bibliothèque comme tu veux avec les étiquettes : crée tes propres tags colorés (« à revoir », « smurf », « fail drôle »…) et pose-les sur tes clips comme sur tes Instants. Le bouton étiquette apparaît au survol d'un clip et dans la visionneuse d'un Instant.

Filtre ta galerie par étiquette : clique une ou plusieurs étiquettes en haut de Moments ou Instants pour ne garder que ce qui les porte. Le même jeu d'étiquettes est partagé entre les deux galeries.

Les outils (Crosshair Studio, convertisseur de sensibilité, trainer de réaction) s'affichent maintenant dans ta langue — fini le français quand l'app est en anglais, espagnol ou allemand.

Nouvel onglet « Outils » avec un Crosshair Studio : crée ton réticule (formes, couleurs, opacité, point central, modèles tout faits), importe un code de crosshair CS2, et affiche-le par-dessus n'importe quel jeu. Tu peux même prévisualiser sur tes propres captures et choisir un réticule différent par jeu.

Toujours dans « Outils » : un convertisseur de sensibilité entre jeux et un trainer pour mesurer ton temps de réaction.

Momento reconnaît désormais presque tous les jeux (jeux de niche, MMO, sorties récentes…), plus seulement une petite liste : tu n'as plus besoin d'ajouter un jeu à la main pour qu'il soit capturé.

Le Carnet « toile libre » gagne les listes à cocher (avec barre de progression) et les sections repliables : range tes tâches et masque/affiche un bloc d'un clic sur son titre.

Tes raccourcis par défaut passent en Ctrl+F9 (garder un moment), Ctrl+F10 (enregistrer une session) et Ctrl+F8 (capture d'écran). Des jeux comme League of Legends ou Valorant utilisent déjà les touches F seules, du coup l'ancien F9/F10/F8 ne se déclenchait pas toujours en pleine partie — avec Ctrl, ça marche partout.

Si tu avais déjà choisi tes propres touches, rien ne change pour toi (et l'Accueil affiche bien tes vrais raccourcis). Tu peux tout remettre comme tu veux dans Réglages → Raccourcis.

Quand tu partages un montage, l'option « couper les sons hors-jeu » (Discord, musique…) marche maintenant comme sur un clip brut : seul le son du jeu reste.

Sur la page d'un clip partagé, l'ambiance lumineuse colorée derrière le lecteur suit enfin la vidéo (lecture, pause, avance rapide) — fini le décalage.

Le formulaire de connexion / inscription ne reste plus bloqué si tu lances « Continuer avec Discord » puis abandonnes : tu peux retenter tout de suite.

Les écrans d'intro des nouveaux comptes et de connexion ne forcent plus de défilement inutile : tout tient à l'écran.

Partager un clip, en mieux : au clic sur « Partager », une fenêtre s'ouvre pour choisir les infos à montrer autour de ton clip (arme, champion, KDA, map, multikill, niveau, date…) — avec un aperçu en direct du rendu Discord. Tu peux aussi couper les sons hors-jeu pour ne garder que le son du jeu (sans Discord ni musique).

La page d'un clip partagé devient une vraie carte de match : elle affiche ton score complet (KDA, items, alliés, ennemis, objectifs) comme dans l'app, baigne dans les couleurs du jeu, et propose un choix de langue (FR/EN/ES/DE).

Repère tes clips dans le cloud d'un coup d'œil : un filtre « Cloud » dans l'onglet Moments, et « Retirer du cloud » en un clic droit. La récupération de tes clips sur un autre PC se trouve désormais dans Réglages → Stockage (« Mode récupération »).

Partager un clip le sauvegarde automatiquement dans le cloud (le marque-page se coche), et tu vois la progression de l'envoi pendant le transfert.

Le lien de partage se copie bien du premier coup, sans avoir à recliquer.

Capture de zone : le cadre de sélection ne saccade plus pendant qu'on le trace, même sur les configurations où il restait haché. Le rectangle suit la souris de façon nette et fluide.

Connexion : l'app demande désormais toujours de se connecter au démarrage. Fini le cas rare où elle pouvait s'ouvrir directement sur l'accueil sans compte.

Premier lancement : l'app démarre maintenant correctement sur un PC tout neuf, sans message d'erreur au premier lancement.

Whiteboard notes: a new free-canvas note type. Place and move text, images, clips, shapes and drawings anywhere, with fonts, colors, zoom and an eraser.

Game-icon library in notes: drop gems, items, champions, weapons, agents… straight into your notes (Path of Exile, LoL, TFT, Valorant, Dota 2, CS2).

Videos in notes: paste a YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Vimeo or Streamable link and watch it right inside your note.

Messages: chat privately with your friends from the app, with your conversations and threads in real time.

Custom thumbnail: pick any Instant as the cover of a Moment or a Sequence.

Grab a frame from a clip: capture a crisp image from the player — it becomes an editable Instant.

Sequence into a short Moment: pick a passage from a long recording and save it as a short clip in your library.

The area-capture tool is smoother: selecting a zone no longer stutters when you have multiple monitors, and the image closes instantly once you've picked your zone.

Win+Shift+S capture: no more stray “S” getting typed into your chat or text field when you trigger the shortcut.

Momento now captures every known game automatically: no more adding your game by hand — it's recognized and ready to clip the moment you launch it. You stay in control in Settings → My games, where a per-game switch lets you turn off the ones you don't want.

In the Notebook, structure your notes into collapsible sections: fold a block with one click to keep your builds, strats and checklists tidy, and unfold only what you're reading.

Momento is now fully translated into French, English, Spanish and German — every screen, menu and button follows your system language.

Share a whole notebook with one link — text, images, screenshots and pinned clips all together. Whoever receives it opens it in Momento and gets their own editable copy.

Got a notebook link? "Open in Momento" adds it straight to your notebooks (or paste the link via Notebook → "Import a notebook") — then make it your own.

Step up a tier: Vault (150 GB) or Legacy (500 GB) of cloud storage, plus exclusive cosmetics (frames, badges, name colors). Keep your best moments — for life. Head to the "Premium" tab.

A built-in help manual: press F1 (or the "?" button up top) to open the full Momento guide, with instant search to find any feature.

Even more games detected automatically — PUBG, Marvel Rivals, Baldur's Gate 3, Genshin Impact, SMITE 2, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and more — and games that slipped under the radar are finally detected.

All of Momento's features stay 100% free: you only pay for more space and cosmetics.

Share a clip with one link: on a saved clip, click "Share", the link is copied — paste it into Discord, on social media or in a message, and it plays right inside the conversation.

New Notebook: a personal notes tab (builds, strats, checklists) with formatting, images, checkboxes and links. Pin a clip or a screenshot, and switch to fullscreen reading for your second screen while you play.

A "Cloud" badge on every clip shows you at a glance which ones are saved — and therefore shareable.

Translate the text on an Instant with one click: open a screenshot, click "Translate", and the text shown on it (Russian, Chinese, Arabic, English… any language) is read then translated into the language of your choice — perfect for a game chat or an unreadable menu.

Change the target language on the fly, and copy the translation (or the original text) with one click.

A big wave of new cosmetics: 20 badges, 20 frames and 20 illustrated banners, plus a gallery of 20 ready-made avatars — equip them with one click from your profile.

12 premium animated themes to dress up the whole app — galaxy, aurora, nebula, night sakura, embers, synthwave… living backgrounds that freeze on their own when you play or minimize the window.

Profile customization rebuilt fullscreen: a live preview that updates as you equip, categories in tabs and your cosmetics sorted by rarity.

New image editor on your Instants: pencil, arrows, shapes, text, blur (to hide a username), cropping and a magic wand that erases a solid background. Copy, save a copy, or overwrite the original.

The editor has zoom, panning, Photoshop-style rulers and a selection tool to move or resize your annotations — all undoable.

Your CS2 and LoL clips name and tag themselves ("Triple kill with the AK-47 on Mirage", "Quadra with Yasuo") and can be searched by weapon, map, champion, role or multikill type.

New "Snipe" screenshot tool (Ctrl+Shift+S): freeze the screen, select an area — rectangle, circle or free shape — and it's copied to the clipboard and filed into your Instants, in a single move.

Snipe can also read the text in an area and copy it directly (screenshot a craft recipe, paste the item names). And you can replace the Windows capture tool so that Win+Shift+S opens Momento's Snipe.

Many more games detected automatically — Battlefield, Dead by Daylight, Sea of Thieves, Monster Hunter Wilds, Genshin Impact, Tekken 8 and dozens more: Momento offers to enable manual clipping with one click.

New "Instants" gallery for your screenshots: arranged by day in a tidy grid, fullscreen viewer with film-strip scrolling, and a "Copy" button to paste a screenshot anywhere you like. You can also rename them.

New "Sequences" page that gathers all your recordings, across every game: hover preview, search, and you can rename or tag each sequence.

Cleaner top bar: the "Keep the moment" indicator becomes a crisper capsule, and the buttons no longer overlap when you shrink the window.

Startup made reliable: your account, your profile and your cosmetics (avatar frame included) reload correctly every time you open the app — no more home screen stuck loading or a profile coming back incomplete. Nothing to do on your end.

Sign-in fix: your account loads properly at startup. If your profile stayed stuck on "Signed in as —" with an empty home screen after an update, it's fixed — nothing to do on your end, Momento signs you back in cleanly.

Your shortcuts (clip, recording) only activate once you're signed in and on the home screen — no more capture or sound triggered from the sign-in screen.

Momento updates become smooth: a progress screen with the version's new features, without going back through the big installer.

Your cosmetics come to life: badges show as real emblems and avatar frames as illustrated HUD frames (instead of plain colored dots / borders). The Founder keeps their animated chrome crown.

Enlarged preview in customization to better judge your frames and badges before equipping them.

Locker fix: your unlocked cosmetics (frames, badges, colors) all show correctly again — some could appear locked even though you had earned them.

Create your Momento account right in the app (email or Discord sign-in): your published clips link to your account and restore on any PC.

A whole social side: public profile, friends with online / in-game presence, public clips and likes, and a bell where you accept a friend request with one click.

Unlock cosmetics by playing — frames, badges, name colors, banners — and arrange your showcase and locker in a customization hub.

Momento now speaks 4 languages (French, English, Spanish, German), chosen automatically based on your system.

Game sound and Windows sound (Discord, music) are recorded on separate tracks, with a mixer in the editor. Plus KillCut: an edit that keeps only your kills with one click.

Recoverable clip trash (disk usage + retention), intro screens on first open, an "ambilight" halo behind the player, and avatar/banner cropping without black bars.

Trim your clips right inside Momento: a mini-editor to cut, keep the best passage and adjust speed, then save to Moments or export to a file, at full quality.

Sort faster in Moments: select several clips at once to delete them together.

More reliable capture and more faithful colors, for recordings with a cleaner look.

New Achievements page: quests to track down in the app, a rank that climbs from Bronze to Diamond based on your points, and a collection of hidden lightsabers to find, each in its own color.

Spot the sabers stashed all over the interface: a click lights them up (with the right sound) and advances your collection.

Cleaner home and tidied-up Settings: unified quality and folder pickers, and a few texts clarified.

On your League and TFT hubs, the current patch summary shows right inside Momento: the big changes of the update, without opening Riot's site.

Click a patch's infographic to open it large in the app, instead of being sent to an external page.

New "Games" tab at the top of the app: all your games gathered in one place, each with its hub (review, builds, lineups, secrets).

Reorder your game bar your way: a long press switches to edit mode, then you drag the tabs into the order you want or hide the ones you don't use.

Path of Exile: new "Exiled Secrets" section with tips and craft data, refreshed automatically.

Three more games with their own hub: Rust, Diablo IV and Path of Exile, with their builds and their farms.

Valorant: your lifetime stats (games, win rate, agents) appear on your profile.

Hotfix: publishing clips to the cloud works again (a technical block had survived 0.2.33).

You can publish your clips to the cloud again — a technical block at sharing time is lifted.

On a clip's public page, the player now shows the timeline of your kills, multikills and the match context (team, score, items) in real time.

Automatic clip scoring more accurate and instant on CS2, League and Dota 2, using the game's official events directly.

Counter-Strike 2: an automatic clip fires properly when you get 3 kills in the same round, even if the frags are spread out over time — no more need for a triple in one burst.

Even more games detected on their own (name + icon) in the suggestions and when you scan open processes to add them.

Dota 2 is tracked like CS2 and League as soon as capture is active: no more need to add it by hand in My games for the game to be taken into account.

Dota 2 is officially supported. On your first launch of Dota 2 with Momento open, the config file installs itself into Steam — you have nothing to do. Your Dota 2 clips now record the hero played, your live K/D/A, your gold, your spells on cooldown, and your inventory at the exact moment of the frag.

New Dota 2 "context" panel under the video player: hero level, HP/mana bars, statuses (silenced, stunned…), KDA, gold/min, abilities ready or on cooldown, and your 6 inventory slots. Click the hero name to open its Liquipedia page.

For now, Dota 2 clips must be triggered manually (Ctrl+F9 by default) — automatic detection of rampages / ultra-kills is coming in a future version, once we've tested it on real matches.

New "context" panel under the video player: for every kill in your CS2 and LoL clips, you see the map, the score, your inventory, the state of your allies, and even the bomb being planted or LoL objectives taken live. The panel follows playback automatically, and a "Pin" button lets you freeze the view on a specific moment.

One marker per kill on the timeline (CS2 and LoL). Before, a LoL quadrakill only showed the triple and the quadra; now you see each of the 4 kills, and you can jump straight to any of them. Same for CS2: 1 marker per frag.

LoL: HP bar and resource bar (mana, energy, fury, …) shown on your champion in the context panel. The Flash / Ignite / Heal icons finally display correctly.

CS2: clickable ally names (opens their Steam profile). LoL: clickable champion names (opens the wiki page). Enemies stay anonymized by slot number, as before.

The window that asked at launch whether you agreed to help the AI is removed. The setting stays available in Settings → Account if you want to contribute later.

On your next launch, a window asks whether you want to help Momento better detect your best moments by sending your future clips anonymously. Answer once, we never ask again.

If you opt in: no username, no IP, no file path — just the video and a random identifier generated on your machine. Can be turned off with one click in Settings → Account, at any time.

If you decline: no clip ever leaves your disk. The AI analysis keeps running locally as before, your score still appears on your clips.

Your clips are now cryptographically signed at capture. In practice: when someone shares your clip, it keeps proof that it really came from YOUR machine, not from a re-encode or a doctored edit — without you having to do anything.

This signature travels with the MP4 file everywhere you send it (Discord, Twitter, YouTube). Third-party tools that support the Game Memory format will be able to use it to authenticate the origin of a highlight (useful for leaderboards, proof of skill).

The AI score now works for everyone, not just in demo. On the first launch after this update, Momento downloads the audio analysis model in the background (~165 MB, once only) — a small progress bar in the bottom left tells you where it's at. You can keep playing meanwhile.

Once the model is ready, every new clip gets its AI badge right away — exactly like before, but it no longer depends on having Momento installed on the dev's machine.

AI score on every clip: a small "AI 73" badge appears in the top left of your thumbnails. The higher it is, the more the clip has a big-moment sound profile (close kills, audio peaks, intensity). Above 70 the badge turns gold.

New "Highlights" filter in the library sidebar: keeps only the clips whose AI score is above 70. Appears automatically as soon as at least one clip qualifies.

The score is computed in the background just after a clip is saved and stays glued to the file — it survives an export, a move, a reinstall.

CS2 kill markers now also in Deathmatch / Practice / FFA / Workshop: before, only frags during a live competitive round appeared on the timeline. Your off-round kills (knife, warmup, creative games) are now marked like the rest.

Timeline markers much more visible: spottable at a glance on all your clips, and the clickable area around each marker is widened so you can jump to a kill without aiming pixel-perfect.

Finer CS2 markers: one marker per kill instead of a single big one for the multikill. Headshots stand out in red, body-shots in pale gray, the tooltip shows the weapon used (AK-47, AWP, Deagle…) and the kill's position in the spree.

The yellow border Windows drew around the game during recording is off by default — the screen stays free of any overlay, like with OBS or Shadowplay.

Clickable markers on the player timeline: your Triple/Quadra/Penta (LoL), your multikills (CS2) and your manual clips appear as gold markers on the playback bar. Click to jump straight to the action.

Recording pipeline redesigned: immediate start as soon as a game is detected, audio and video perfectly synced, and no more background disk writing until you've saved a clip.

If something ever goes wrong with the new pipeline on a specific game, you can go back to the old one by launching Momento with MOMENTO_CAPTURE_BACKEND=legacy (and let us know the issue).

Capture method chosen automatically per game: each popular title (Valorant, Apex, Fortnite, Rust, FiveM, Minecraft, Tarkov, R6 Siege, Hunt, Helldivers 2, Marvel Rivals, Warzone, PUBG, The Finals, …) directly uses the pipeline that works best for its anti-cheat / graphics engine, without you having to touch a single setting.

Games without blocking anti-cheat (CS2, LoL, Overwatch 2, Dota 2, Rocket League, GTA V, Diablo IV, Path of Exile 2, Palworld, …) keep the fastest GPU pipeline. The others switch straight to Microsoft's official method for protected windows.

Added FiveM (GTA RP servers) to the list of auto-detected games.

Valorant / Apex / Fortnite and other games with anti-cheat: capture now directly uses Microsoft's official method (the same one as Discord and Xbox Game Bar) first, instead of ending up with empty clips when the anti-cheat blocks classic screen capture.

Capture of Valorant / games with anti-cheat improved: a last safety net takes over when the main methods are blocked by the anti-cheat, which avoids empty clips even in "Windowed Fullscreen" mode.

More useful error message when capture produces an empty clip: it lists the real leads (switch to windowed, relaunch, or send us the logs) instead of forcing a single cause.

When a manual clip fails mid-game, you now hear an error sound instead of silence — useful in fullscreen where you can't see notifications.

If capture produces an empty clip (typical in exclusive fullscreen on Valorant / LoL), the message tells you to switch to "Windowed Fullscreen" mode in the game settings.

Publishing long / heavy clips unblocked: clips beyond ~80 MB crashed with "RangeError: Invalid array length" mid-transfer, that's fixed.

When a clip can't publish after recording, the toast now tells you exactly why (account signed out, server hiccup, …) with the action to take — instead of the generic "Publishing failed".

In-game cursor that flickered while Momento was running: fixed. Capture no longer touches the system cursor at all, your mouse stays smooth and stable on screen.

Publishing your clips fixed: the "Could not create clip record" error that blocked sending to your profile is fixed. Publishing has also become idempotent: if it fails mid-way and you retry, we resume the same clip server-side instead of creating a duplicate.

More precise upload error messages: you now know immediately whether it's an account, connection, or temporary hiccup issue — with the action to take in the same sentence.

One-click sign-in fixed: when you log in on mymomento.gg while Momento is already open, your account links immediately (no more "Waiting for sign-in…" spinning in the void).

Connecting your mymomento.gg account takes one click from Settings → Account: your browser opens, you sign in, the desktop takes over on its own. Nothing left to copy-paste.

Clearer upload error messages: if something goes wrong, we tell you exactly what to do instead of a generic "Invalid token".

Syncing with your account is more reliable server-side — fewer false problems when everything actually works.

Launch Rust, Valorant, Apex, Fortnite and 20+ other popular games: Momento offers to enable F9 with one click. No more searching for the process name.

New "Scan open games" button in Settings → My games: select your current game from the list to add it without typing anything.

Manual entry stays available for exotic games. Dismissed suggestions can be reset at any time.

Automatic reconnection to your web profile for older accounts — nothing to do on your end.

Publish button fixed — sending to your mymomento.gg profile works end to end again.

The silent background sync (on every new clip kept) resumes right after.

When you delete a published clip, the video and thumbnail are also cleaned up on your web profile. Your quota frees up immediately.

Storage indicator refreshed automatically after each deletion — you see the GB freed in real time.

Offline deletion: your clip always goes immediately, and the web-side cleanup resumes on its own at the next deletion.

Settings: the typography adapts automatically to resolution and window size, with real-time recalculation on resize.

Website: the left pane's typography adapts to the window size — readable fullscreen as in split.

Profile editing: built-in cropping before uploading the avatar and banner. You zoom and reposition the image before confirming.

Publish button (from a clip's detail and from the library) uses the same unified flow, with clear error messages if something goes wrong.

If you click Publish without having connected your mymomento.gg account, a toast tells you exactly what to do instead of a silent failure.

Installer trimmed by about 6 MB.

Version number in the footer read automatically from the app — no more mismatch between the installed version and the display.
